Carol joined the company in July of 2013 as a Senior Business Analyst, and during her tenure she supported multiple projects, including contracts for: (1) the Defense Information Systems Agency, Global Information Grid (GIG) Technical Guidance Federation (DISA GTG-F); (2) the Federal Safety and Inspection Service, Public Health Information System, at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA FSIS PHIS); and (3) the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, also at USDA (USDA NIFA). Her work ethic was unparalleled, as was her commitment to excellence on any appointed task.
On the USDA NIFA contract to which Carol was most recently assigned, she began her work with that agency in a part-time capacity, supporting their business process re-engineering and requirements gathering efforts. However, NIFA was so impressed with her skills and acumen that Carol was brought on board as a full-time resource on their project. As a result of Carol’s never-ending quest for excellence, she became an indispensable asset to the NIFA contract and cemented DKW’s reputation as a leader in the field.
Carol was so respected at USDA NIFA her co-workers arranged a remembrance gathering in her honor, where she was extolled as a shining presence and a trusted and admired colleague.
At the uplifting public memorial service Carol’s family planned, there were many stories shared about the extraordinary person Carol was in every aspect of her life – beloved mother, daughter, and sister; cherished member of her church; and loyal friend and neighbor.
We also held our own gathering in memory of Carol at DKW headquarters, where her bright smile, warm and generous personality, and sense of humor were all themes in each story her colleagues shared about how she touched –and enhanced–their lives.
Just a month before her death, Carol was named DKW’s “Employee of the Year.” She embodied the essence of the award: a strong work ethic, dedication to the company and her client, solid interpersonal skills, and leadership qualities.
In recognition of Carol’s extraordinary professional achievements, and in tribute to her exceptional character, our President/CEO, Darryl K. Washington has announced that the Employee of the Year Award has been renamed to the “Carol Inman Glover Employee of the Year Award.” This distinction will serve to celebrate and memorialize Carol and her contributions to the company, but also stands as a fitting challenge for all DKW employees to strive to meet the standard she set so effortlessly.
She will forever be missed.
