DKW Communications, Inc. was honored as the United States Small Business Administration (SBA), Region III Contractor of the Year for 2009.
This prestigious SBA award was presented in Washington, DC, at a White House ceremony on May 25, 2010 honoring small businesses that have provided the government and industry with outstanding goods and services.
DKW’s customers nominated DKW for this award after DKW was instrumental in assisting the Armed Services meet mission-critical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) goals. DKW’s accomplishments included developing technologies that help the Armed Services collaborate and extend cyber security and ISR messaging applications to the network’s edge.
Upon returning from the White House ceremony, DKW President, Darryl Washington called the team together to congratulate everyone for their contribution to this significant accomplishment. “It’s really sort of a dream come true for a kid who grew up in Washington, DC, to receive an honor from the President of the United States. But it was really a team effort. It’s not me that won the award, it’s DKW. And you should all be very proud of that!”
